I recently joined my first–community supported agriculture. I have always wanted to try it and the opportunity presented itself.
A CSA allows participants to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown locally by regional farmers. When you become a member of a CSA, you’re purchasing a “share” of vegetables from a regional farmer. For about 6 months your farmer will deliver that share of produce to a convenient drop-off location in your neighborhood.
One of my favorite parts? I never really know what I am going to get. What a great opportunity to search for new recipes and use ingredients I have never even heard of. In addition I taste the difference–the quality of the produce is exceptional! I highly recommend giving it a try next season!
